This component system includes a monster of a hard drive totaling 500 GB and supports 2GBs of RAM for multitasking while easily running Vista Home Ultimate. It also offers amazing video through a 256 MB video card and full sound with Dolby Digital Live.
Okoro has chosen the Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 Merom processor that runs at 2.0 GHz for its’ media center. This processor is usually chosen for laptops, likely Okoro chose it for its efficiency.
This media center comes standard with 2 GBs of RAM and a 500 GB SATA hard drive. It can support up to a terabyte of storage if you add a second 500 GB hard drive. In addition, since it can write to Blu–ray you can potentially archive tons of video.
The Okoro media center can provide excellent video and audio with a 256 MB ATI X1600 PRO 3D PCI–Express graphics card with HDMI and HDCP and an Intel High Definition Flexible 8–CH CODEC with Dolby Digital Live support. This graphics card is even capable of displaying most games.
This is the only system we looked at besides the Sony that has a Blu–ray reader/writer. It also comes with a mini wireless keyboard and a remote control. The Okoro supports four open USBs and a FireWire port as well as the ability to support HDTV. It has two TV tuners, an FM tuner and supports noise reducing elements to ensure a quite media experience.
The only thing we found missing was a media card reader; if you need a card reader you may want to get an external card reader or go with the Cannon PC.
Although this system costs nearly $3000, it is priced less than the Cannon, Voodoo and the Sony XL3.
The Okoro media center comes with a one–year warranty. You can contact customer support by email or telephone. Although they display a chat option, every time we visited their website the chat operator was listed as “offline.”
The Okoro offers good entertainment compatibility, Blu–ray ability and lots of storage for less than $3000, which is as good as it gets.
