CyberPower consistently delivers a good configuration for a competitive price and the Media Center Ultra Edition is a good example of CyberPower’s strong suit. This system totals less than $2000, even if you choose to boost the RAM up to 2 GB.
The Media Center Ultra comes with a Core 2 Duo E6300 processor that runs at 1.86 GHz. This is one of the better processors you will find for the price.
CyberPower’s media center comes with 1 GB of RAM and a 250 GB hard drive. We would recommend that you increase the RAM to 2GBs for $180 and the hard drive to 400 GB for $83, which still puts this system well under the price of other systems of this quality.
CyberPower does well in this area; it has an ATI Radeon X1950 Pro PCI–E x16 256MB video card and high definition on–board audio configured for 7.1 surround sound.
This system comes with an 18X DVD±R/±RW + CD–R/RW dual layer drive and a 16X DVD ROM. It has a 12–in–1 card reader and four open USB ports, but does not have a FireWire port (but you can add one for less than $20). It comes with a cordless keyboard/mouse combo that has programmable hotkeys, VoIP keys and Windows Vista keys.
This system comes with above average components for a less than average price. In addition, CyberPower offers low–cost upgrades.
CyberPower offers a 3–year warranty, two years longer than most as well as phone, email and chat support.
If you a powerful configuration, for the lowest price, CyberPower is your best choice for a component type Media Center.
